Source Photonics today announces availability of complete end-to-end solutions for 10G EPON deployments which comprises 10G EPON symmetric application and 10G EPON asymmetric application solutions.

The new industrial temperature grade 10GEPON ONU transceiver in a SFP+ form factor was announced today by Source Photonics, a product which can cover extended range applications. Relying on Source Photonics’ established integration technology, the 10G EPON ONU is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3av-2009 standard for PRX 30+ and PR30+ interfaces. Both PRX30+ and PR30+ ONU can support the power saving function which can effectively decrease power consumption when the system is in idle mode.

Source Photonics also introduced today the new 10G EPON OLT symmetric transceiver in XFP form factor, the latest addition to the company's expanding 10G EPON transceiver portfolio. The 10G EPON OLT symmetric triplexer is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3av-2009 standard for PR30 and PRX30 interfaces as well as IEEE 802.3ah-2008 standard for 1000Base-PX20 interface.

Source Photonics’ new 10G EPON OLT symmetric Triplexer and I-Temp 10GEPON symmetric and asymmetric ONUs provide a flexible system transition and upgrade where the 10G EPON and 1G EPON can co-exist in one PON network.
