In 2014 the number of Asian FTTH breaking 300 million up by 36.8%

Leading telecommunications research institute IDATE today announced that, as of December 2014, the number of Asian FTTH has reached 338 million, up 36.8% compared with 2013.

President of the Association of Asia-Pacific FTTH Peter Macaulay said the data show the tremendous growth potential of the Asia-Pacific region. Smart city-building fiber-based infrastructure, including FTTH (Fibre-to-the Home), FTTB (Fibre-to-the-Building), FTTN (Fibre-to-the-Node) and FTTA (Fibre-to-the-Antenna), enabling high-speed Internet service, the family of things to improve intelligence development.

Meanwhile, IDATE is also based on the ratio of fiber to the home are listed among the top eight countries and regions, including Japan, with 100% fiber to the home is high in first place, South Korea and Singapore are tied for second with 95%, other countries followed by Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and mainland China.
